Melinda Ann McMoore passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 15, 2025 at her home in Port Orchard, WA. Melinda was born on May 18, 1960 in St. Helena, CA. She grew up in Napa Valley, CA and graduated in 1978 from Vintage High, also in Napa, before moving to Washington State.
Melinda enjoyed spending time with family playing in the pool, doing yard work, sunbathing and sitting by the fire reading her books during the winter. Recently she found a love of woodworking. Melinda also loved animals. So much, that she would spend her last dollar on seed to feed the birds and squirrels.
Melinda worked for the South Kitsap School District as a well loved lunch lady during the day and a custodian in the evenings.
She was a loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister and Grandmother and will be forever missed.
Melinda is survived by her husband Emil B. McMoore.
Daughter - Hillary Sheffield of Wyoming
Step Sons - Ricky, James and Robert McMoore of Washington.
Sisters and Brothers - Paulette Reissman, Paula (Lonnie) Rush, Joe Morris, Steven Morris and Priscilla Payne of California.
Nieces and Nephews - Joe Morris Jr. , Trenton Stoops, Christopher Stoops, Cassaundra Stoops, Morgan Rush, Michael Rush and Sylvia Ensminger.
Grandchildren - Noah Sheffield of Wyoming.
Travis Mitchell of Oregon.
Shayla, Tristin, Ricky Jr. , Jeremiah, Isabella, Jaskier, Ryker and Oliver McMoore of Washington State.
Great Granddaughter - Sarah McMoore of Washington State.
Melinda was proceeded in death by her Mother Carol Reissman, Father Wayne Reissman, Biological Father Ted Morris, Daughter Tracy Payne and Elly Mae, her shadow and loyal dog.
In Melindas memory, she would love if you would buy a bag of seed and feed the birds.
