Melisa "Missey" Roush, 56, of Baxter, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Baxter Community Center from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Immediately following visitation, a celebration of life service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Missey was born on September 23, 1968 in Iowa to Rebecca "Becky" Richardson. She was raised in Baxter and graduated from Baxter High School with the Class of 1987. She married the love of her life, Randy "Brown" Roush, on May 4, 1996, and together they raised their family and farm animals in the peaceful outskirts of Baxter. Missey worked at Jacobson Barilla for a short time before she and Brown embarked on their entrepreneurial journey with Roush Trucking. Despite her busy schedule, Missey always made time for what mattered most to her: her family, her horses, and her dogs, all of whom were recipients of her unwavering love and attention. She was an extraordinary soul whose life was characterized by a loving and dedicated spirit, a generous heart, and a supportive nature. She was a beacon of warmth and kindness, always lighting the path for those around her. A longtime resident of Baxter, Iowa, Missey was a devoted homemaker, creating a nurturing environment that radiated love and care. Missey was a woman of many talents, with her hobbies reflecting her diverse interests and her zest for life. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, going to horse shows, showing horses, and shopping at thrift stores. An enthusiast of all things vintage, Missey had a knack for finding and redoing antiques. She was also creatively inclined, often indulging in craft projects and rock hunting for landscape projects. Her home was a testament to her unique taste and artistic vision, filled with beautifully restored antiques and captivating crafts. Missey's generosity extended beyond her immediate family. She was a "mother hen" to all, often opening up her home to those in need, providing them the support and encouragement they needed to get back on their feet. Missey was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Richardson, and her grandparents Kenny and Bea Richardson. Those left to cherish her loving memory are her husband, Randy Roush; children Haley (Eric) Bullard, Shania (Ivy) Moore, Kennedy Gulling, Jusson (Jordan) Roush; grandchildren Adan, Kenzie, and Myah Johnston, Clara and Charlee Roush, and LJ Boyd; brother Shay (Lisa) Noel; aunt Nancy Deaton; uncle Lee (Lorraine) Noel; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care has been entrusted with the care of Missey and her family.
