Melissa Bonnette Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 22, 2024.

VILLE PLATTE - Melissa Ann "Missy" Bonnette passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in Alexandria, Louisiana at the age of 50. A Celebration of Life will be hosted at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with Reverend Kevin West presiding over the service.

Missy was born on Monday, July 10, 1973, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to Sherry Bonnette and the late Bruce Bonnette, imparting her presence with a kindness that touched the lives of those around her. Her unwavering devotion to her loved ones, as well as her spirited love for the outdoors, particularly in her pursuits of hunting and fishing, showcased the depth of her character. Melissa found joy in supporting the LSU Tigers and eagerly anticipated the softball season, spreading her enthusiasm to those who shared her love for the sport. She was also a faithful member of the First Baptist Church.

With a heart as expansive as the Louisiana bayous, Missy's love knew no bounds; it enveloped her family and friends with enduring tenderness. In her presence, one could always find solace, laughter, and warmth. Although her absence leaves an irreplaceable void, let us honor her memory by recalling the brightness she infused into our lives.

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Larry LeJeune; her daughters, Destanie and husband, Michael Simmons, Sara and husband, John Taylor Joubert, and Rachelle LeJeune; her sons, Jordan LeJeune and Ryan Tate and her granddaughter, Eden Simmons. Also, left to cherish her memories are her mother, Sherry Bonnette; her brothers, Jody and wife, Rachael Bonnette and Jason Bonnette; her godparents, Sue and Bobby Lanclos and her three godchildren, Blade Bonnette, Brody Bonnette and Cain Ludeau.

Missy is joined in Heaven by her father, Bruce Bonnette and her cousin, Charmaine Bonnette.

At the request of the family, a Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 9:00 AM until the time of service.
