Melissa Ann “Missy” Ford, 33, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Born July 10, 1992 in Columbus, Ohio, she was a daughter of Pauline Kay “Polly” (Dougherty) Ford of Columbus and the late Randy Wray Ford.
Melissa enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved four-legged feline friend Joy, who was also her Emotional Support Animal. She was a 2013 graduate of ECOT high school and had been a Columbus resident her entire life. In her spare time, Melissa enjoyed completing a variety of different crafts, some of her favorites including diamond painting art, crocheting, and coloring. She was a member of Maize Road Baptist Church in Columbus.
She is survived by her mother, Polly (companion, Daniel Corrigan) Ford; sister, Amanda (husband, Jason Newell) Ford; nephew, Brandon Oliver; and a large extended family, including Dana, Janet, Barb, Regina, and Dick, and other aunts and uncles, and their families. She is preceded in death by her father, Randy Ford, and two of his siblings; her maternal and paternal grandparents, Pauline Siano, Daniel Dougherty, Stephen Siano, Shirley Ford, and Clifton “Red” Ford; her Aunt Patty and Uncle Don; and fur babies, Princess and Buster.
A 1:00 p.m. funeral, officiated by Pastor Shawn Hensley, will be held on Friday, December 19, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison, Ohio, where her family will receive callers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service. Because this service is a celebration of Melissa’s life, her family requests that all who attend wear bright, cheerful colors and absolutely do not wear anything black or mournful. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Melissa to help defray the cost of her final expenses may be made to her family in care of the R. K.
