Melissa Ellison, age 48, of Portland, Tennessee, entered into rest on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

She was born on October 19, 1975, in Macon, Georgia, to her parents Terry and Brenda Murphy.

Melissa was in the graduating Class of 1994, of Warner Robins High School, in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Shortly after, she began her career at Allstate Insurance, in 1996. Melissa was a senior claims adjuster and worked there for 27 years. She was known to be a hard worker. Most recently she was planning her own business endeavor, “Just From Me”; offering event planning and her creative talent. Melissa was married to Kenneth on September 12, 1998. She was an amazing and loving wife and mother, to say the least. In her personal time, she enjoyed camping, and just had to have spiced pickled quail eggs.

Melissa was an outstanding woman, who persisted to stay positive despite enduring her ailing health. A true warrior. Although she will be dearly missed, her family and friends will remember her with a smile and all the laughs they shared together.

Melissa Amanda (Murphy) Ellison is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Kenneth Ellison; only daughter, Amanda Ellison (Logan Summers); father, Terry Murphy; mother, Brenda (Phillips) Murphy; brother, Chris Murphy (Dana); maternal grandmother, ‘G Granny’ Lena Phillips; paternal grandmother, Ruth Ellison; and serval extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, ‘G Pop’ Lee Phillips; father-in-law, ‘Pawpaw’ Thomas Ellison; and relative, Shawn Wayne Summers.

Visitation will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, on Thursday, June 20, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., and again on Friday, June 21, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.

The funeral service in honor of Melissa Ellison will take place at 1:00 P.M., from the chapel of Crestview Funeral Home, on Friday, June 21, 2024, officiated by Bro. Greg McCoy.

Interment will immediately follow services in Crestview Memory Gardens.
