Swansea, South Carolina - Melissa Lee Pifer, known affectionately to her loved ones as "Mitzi," passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of Christmas Day. Though her departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, her family takes great comfort in the quiet, gentle way she went home to be with the Lord.
Born on February 17, 1969, in Rochester, NY, Mitzi's life was a testament to the power of devotion. Her journey was defined by her lifelong bond with her husband, Bobby Pifer. As childhood sweethearts, they shared a rare and enduring love that served as the heartbeat of their home in Swansea.
Mitzi's greatest joy was her family. She loved her children - Sierra, Hailey, Emily, and Steven - with a fierce and protective heart. Her granddaughter, Emma, was the light of her life. Mitzi was a woman who lived for others, finding her greatest happiness in the simple moments spent with those she held dear. Mitzi is survived by her Husband Bobby, her children Sierra, Haley, Emilym and Steven; her Granddaughters, Emma and Summer, her Siblings, Christine, Richard, (his wife Abby), Tammy, Steven, Tina, Noreen, Jane, and Tim, in addition to her closest nephews, Nick and Adam. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Sr., and her mother, Joan Henning, who passed away just three months ago. The family finds peace knowing that Mitzi is now reunited with her parents.
"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety."
