Melissa Smith Obituary
Born in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of John and Margaret Copeland. Melissa devoted her life to caring for her family and home, and she was deeply loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Copeland; her sister, Rhonda McGee and Brother, Stacey Copeland.
Melissa is survived by her loving husband, Verlin Smith of Cecilia; her daughters, Brittany (Branden) Miller of Louisville, Heather Copeland of Stephensburg, Katherine Copeland of Stephensburg, and Raylynn Potts of Stephensburg; her sister, Debbie Bailey of Elizabethtown; and her brothers, Lee Copeland of Elizabethtown and Stan Copeland of O'Fallon, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, with Rev. Don Flanigan officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and again on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Manakee Funeral Home.
