It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Melissa Jean Wallace, aged 68, on September 6, 2025. She was born on March 13, 1957, in Ajo, Arizona, to James Lester Swift and Dorothy Bond. Melissa passed away peacefully in Warner Robins, Georgia, surrounded by love.

Melissa was a cherished daughter, sister, and beloved partner. She was preceded in death by her father, James Swift, and Don Lopez, stepfather and dad. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Alexander, and her nephew, Bryan Herbert. She is survived by the love of her life and husband, William "Bill" Wallace; her mother, Dorothy Lopez; and her siblings: Stacy Swift (Scott Barrow), Jamie Olson, and Teresa (Bill) Herbert.

Melissa graduated from Roseville High School in California, where she was known for her creativity and kindness. After settling in Warner Robins, she dedicated her career to serving others as a teller at the Robins Federal Credit Union, until she fell ill. Then she dedicated her time to caring for the neighborhood animals, taking care of house, and cooking amazing meals for her husband.

Beyond her professional life, Melissa will be remembered for her remarkable spirit and the joy she brought to those around her. She was endlessly creative, crafting beautiful door wreaths and sewing thoughtful projects for loved ones, and cooking. Her kitchen was a place of love - family and friends fondly recall her famous burritos, so adored by Bill that even his co-workers wished they could steal them. She had a warm sense of humor that could light up any room, and she delighted in bringing people together with laughter, food, and kindness.

Melissa also had a playful side - she proudly claimed her place as Team Edward in the Twilight saga, enjoyed traveling whenever she could, and embraced new experiences with curiosity and joy.

In her later years, as she faced illness with resilience and grace, Melissa found comfort in connecting with friends and family on Facebook, watching uplifting Korean films, and listening to music. She especially cherished hearing the beautiful vocals of the Kazakh singer, Dimash Kudaibergen, and the heartfelt songs performed by her beloved Bill, whose music filled their home with love.

Melissa will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, humor, and gentle spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

As we gather to celebrate Melissa's life, her memory will continue to shine brightly in all those she touched. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates any expressions of condolences and support during this difficult time.
