Melissa Michelle Walters, 48 of Walterboro, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
Born on December 13, 1976 in Tampa, FL was a Daughter of Deborah (Estes) Walters and the late Marvin Walters.
Melissa was a graduate of Stratford High School, and also attended Trident Technical College. She was a lifelong caregiver, but she wore many hats. She spent time at the Naval Weapons Station as a warehouse specialist, at DuPont as a production assistant, and as management for local fashion chains. She was a lover of animals, plants, music, and people. Her pets George, Oliver, Sully, Sammy, and Maggie will all deeply miss their affectionate owner and caretaker.
Melissa is preceded in death by her father Marvin Walters.
In addition to her mother Deborah, Melissa is survived by cousins Stephanie Thomas and Shawn Estes, aunts Faye Knox and Robin Gonzalez, and a great-aunt Wilma King. She will be greatly missed by other friends, cousins, and colleagues.
I’ll remember your sweet smile when you have experienced something truly awesome. How you inspired so many people with that compassionate heart of yours, your viewpoint of life and your love for God. Those sweet moments that a mom shares with her daughter, and with you there have been so many. You said you knew God had something in mind for you, otherwise he wouldn’t have given you that second chance with life in October. But you were going to figure it out. How you always wanted to give someone a second chance, no matter how much the disappointed you. You would always find the good. You were the friend that people didn’t know they needed. I was truly blessed the day you were born. Forever in my heart, my sweet Melissa. You will be, forever and always Melissa Michelle Walters, December 13, 1976.
