Melodie Jo Loveland, age 50, of Grand Island, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 16th at 10:30am at All Faiths Funeral Home with Doug Giffin officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. Visitation will begin at 9:00am before the service. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Condolences can be left at www.giallfaiths.com.

Melodie was born on May 23, 1975 in Longbeach, CA to Dennis and Christine (Sheffield) Edwards. When she was just 13 months old the family moved back to Grand Island. Melodie attended St. Libory District 118 and graduated from Northwest High School in 1993. After graduation she attended Kearney State College and took online courses through Metropolitan Community College, majoring in business and finance.

On October 28, 2000, she was united in marriage to Jason Loveland. To this union two sons were born, Chance and Corey Loveland.

Melodie was employed with FedEx Ground and ConAgra. She then got the privilege to be her sister, Chalie's primary caregiver for over 10 years. It was rewarding and they both cherished the time they got to spend together. After she moved back to Grand Island she worked for Skyview Tree Service.

Melodie was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Methodist Church in Grand Island. Attending her sons' activities and sports was always important to her, and she loved watching cousin Brian coach baseball and wrestling. She enjoyed watching Husker volleyball and football, Omaha Lancers Hockey, attending concerts and listening to country music. Over the years the family took many wonderful vacations and she loved getting to take Chalie for rides on the go-karts. She always found comfort spending time in her parents' backyard, whether it was reading, floating in the swimming pool or just basking in the sun with family and friends. Over her last few weeks, she thought of her parents' backyard as her sanctuary.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Chance and Corey Loveland both of Grand Island; grandchildren, Kingston and Aurelio Loveland; parents, Dennis and Christine Edwards; aunts and uncles, Barbara Sheffield-Brand of Omaha, Lois Sheffield of Lincoln, Lynda and Lyle Henderson of Kearney, Nancey and Norman Fredrick of Ponca and Craig and Trenna Edwards of Grand Island; many cousins, friends and dogs, Mugsy and Malone.

Melodie was preceded in death by her sister, Chalie Edwards; grandparents, Charles Sr. and Margaret (Shriner) Sheffield and Rex and Wanda (Skeen) Edwards; uncles, Charlie Jr. and Jerry "Mugsy" Sheffield; grandson Lockland Loveland; cousin, Caleb Sheffield; former spouse, Jason Loveland and her beloved dogs, Fluffy Buffy, Pookie, Candy, Donna and the comfort dog that Melodie and Chalie loved, Maggie Jo.
