Melquidez "Melvin" Lopez

Melquidez "Melvin" Lopez, 82, of Stafford, passed away on October 20, 2025.
He was born in Damon, Texas on December 10, 1942, to Julio and Guadalupe Lopez. This husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, Melvin is preceded in death by his siblings, Lupe Huddleton, Dolores Gonzales, and Jerry Lopez; and his daughter, Desiree Melchor.
Survivors include his wife, Diana "Diane" Lopez; sisters, Nieves Rebeles and Frances Christopoulos. Melvin's blended family includes Renae Melchor, Joseph Jacob Lopez, Jessica Manchester, Megan Lopez and Matt Lopez.
Melvin was proud to be called Papa, Uncle Mel, cousin, friend, neighbor, and of course, an Astro's fan.
Mr. Lopez had many doctors, nurses, and staff who helped him. The family wishes to acknowledge their skill, knowledge, and patience in caring for Melvin.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 27, 2025 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 507 S. 4th Street in Richmond, Texas. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Disabled Veterans of America.
