MELTON JOHN BARBONI (MEL)

January 30, 1936 ~ August 23, 2021



Melton John Barboni (Mel), passed away on August 23, 2021 in Ogden, Utah at the age of 85.

Mel was born in Los Angeles, California on January 30, 1936. He grew up in the tiny town of Greenfield in Northern California, with his parents and younger brother Jimmy.

He joined the military at the young age of 17. Mel enlisted in the United States Army and later, the US Navy. He proudly served his country in both Korea and Japan.

Mel was an electrician by trade and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 50 years prior to his retirement.

His passion for motorcycles and his love for riding is who Mel was. His garage was his fortress and his favorite pastime was building and working on Harley Davidson motorcycles. It's what he loved doing and his talents produced a number of beautiful custom show bikes which he entered into competition and won first place titles.

He loved spending time with his family and many friends. Mel is survived by his wife of 40 years, his four children and nine grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Lindquist's Syracuse Mortuary
