Melvin Amaro Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perl Funeral Home - Medford on Jan. 26, 2023.
Melvin Vieira Amaro went to be with the Lord on January 19th 2023. Mel was a Father, Grandfather/papa, uncle, brother, and a friend.
Mel was born in Grants Pass, Oregon to Juaquin Amaro Das Neves and Isabella Amaro. Melvin grew up in Williams, Oregon on a Dairy farm with his sister Agnes Amaro.
Mel joined the Navy out of High School, but was medically/honorably discharged just 2 years later. He loved baseball and enjoyed coaching his children as they grew. He umpired professionally for the Little League World Series. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, camping, poker nights with his buddies, casinos, spending time with his "Brother's" (group of best friends since High School) and the ones he loved.
Mel had an amazing sense of humor and always told the best jokes. He never met a stranger, and would do anything he could to help someone in need. Mel spent a great deal of time researching his ancestry background for the Amaro family. His mother and father's family both were from the Azores Islands of Portugal. Through this research he established relationships with family here in the states as well as family still on the islands.
Mel lived an honorable life and will be missed more than words could ever say by his family and close friends.
Mel is survived by his fiancé Laura Lambe, children Ronald Amaro, Richard Amaro, and Tina Amaro, grandchildren, Robert, Bridgett, Keisha, and Amy, great-grandchildren, Shea Anne, Karma, Malachi, and Farrah, great-great-grandchildren, Mateo, and Austin, Niece Roberta and Patricia, Great Niece, Tiffany, Great Nephew, Ishman.
Mel was proceeded in death by his parents Juaquin Amaro and Isabella Amaro, sister Agnes, wife Mary Amaro.
