Melvin Lee Baker, 59, of Brushtown, PA, passed away on February 23, 2026. He was the loving husband of Brooke (Ostrowski) Baker for 22 years. Born June 9, 1966, in Hanover, PA, he was the devoted son of the late Claude, Sr. and Hazel (Hippensteel) Baker.

Melvin was a simple guy and when he loved something, he loved it hard. He was an avid Packers fan who loved his children more than anything. Melvin was a member of the McSherrystown Home, loved softball, playing horseshoes, going to his cabin in the mountains, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, dirt bikes, grilling, NASCAR, and NHRA.

In addition to his wife, Brooke, he is survived by his children, Ian and significant other Samantha, Maggie and significant other Cameron, and Matthew; his siblings, Claude Baker Jr., Charlotte Lawyer, Betty Riley, Doris Sowers, Mary Croson, Steve Hippensteel, Barb Ruiz, Nancy Crushong, Jim Baker and wife Chris, Bob Baker and wife Christina, Frank Baker, George Baker and wife Lori; sister-in-law, Jodi Snyder; his loyal companions, Watson and Holmes, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Charles Baker Sr. and John Baker; nephews, Robert Baker Jr and William Baker; great nephew, Michael Peterson Jr; and brother-in-law, Rick Crushong.
