Sergeant Melvin Wayne Doubet, 76, of Moro, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
He was born on June 21, 1947, in Carrollton, IL, the son of Alvin and Beulah (Trubey) Doubet.
Melvin is a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He is a retired Sergeant of the Madison County Sheriff's Office, after over 20 years of service, which he absolutely loved. He was a hard working man. Melvin was a supporting and wonderful provider. Along with chopping firewood, he was an avid shooter. Melvin cherished his time with his family, chosen family of Myrt & Ferris Ford, and his friends.
Survivors include his children, Matthew (Theresa) Doubet of Hamel, IL, Marcus (Sarah) Doubet of Marine, IL, and Tepka (Philip) Moreshead of St. Charles, MO; his former wife and mother of his children, Lisa Doubet-Randall; a brother, Alvin (Carol) Doubet; grandchildren, Clara Doubet, Bradley Doubet, Annabelle Doubet, Zachary Doubet, Henley Moreshead, and Sage Moreshead; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 9 am until time of service at 11 am, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens. Military rites will be conducted by Alton VFW Post 1308.
Memorials are suggested to BackStoppers.
