Melvin L. Eddy, 81, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on December 21, 2025 surrounded by his family in his daughter's home in Fairmont.
He was born on August 19, 1944 to the late Lelia Rose and Terry Dale (Stub) Eddy.
Melvin was a man of few words and many talents. He was a Viet Nam vet and proudly served as a helicopter mechanic. He then spent most of his life as a construction worker at Bronzel of Fairmont and various companies. He finished his career as an electrician's aide at United Electric of Core. As his grandson said, "Even though he could be stubborn, he was a good man."
He is survived by his loving wife, Kay, and 2 daughters, Misty and Melody. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Stephanie, Wesley, and Alexander, and siblings Ora Eddy and Donna Lemmon.
In addition to his parents, Melvin is preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Christian and Tommy, also 4 sisters, Iva Roupe, Barbara White, Ann Wright, and Emelia Polansky, and 3 brothers, Blaine, Billie Joe, and Denzil Fay.
Visitation will be held at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road Westover, WV on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 3-7 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 23rd from 10 am until the funeral service begins at 11 am with Jason Tennant officiating.
