Melvin Ray Hix, 69, of Green Ridge, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 1, 1955, in Lincoln, Missouri, a son of Flavel Woodrow and Ruby Hix.

For over 20 years, Melvin owned AA Discount Muffler in Versailles. He was a skilled mechanic and welder, a devoted father, and an avid NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt being his favorite driver. He had a deep appreciation for vintage cars, especially his 1969 Chevy truck. One of his favorite pastimes was hunting for arrowheads and spending time outdoors. He took great pride in all his children.

Melvin is survived by his son, Marcus Hix and wife, Deni of Grandview; his daughter, Mychelle Ogle and husband, Jason of Archie; his long-time partner, Della Hilgar; ten grandchildren; and four brothers: Lonnie Hix, Donnie Hix, Shorty Hix, and Jim Hix. He is also survived by three sisters: Roberta Riley, Barbara Irwin, and Loretta McCall; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Flavel and Ruby Hix; two sons, Justin Ray Hix and Marvin Woodrow Hix; three brothers, Marvin Hix, David Hix, and Ethan Flavel Hix; and two sisters, Donna Lou Redding and Connie Jo Hix.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Jaycee House in Cole Camp.
