Melvin Kut Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
Age 81, late of Romeoville, formally of the Lago Vista Community in Lockport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Born and raised in Chicago and lived in Oak Forest before moving to Lockport. He was a traffic manager for many years working at Avery Dennison and Witco Chemical from where he retired. Melvin loved War and Military history, watching WWE and Son of Svengoolie, he enjoyed fishing and golfing, but above all else he cherished spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents John and Sophie (Nee Keller) Kut; and three siblings, Norbert (late Louise), Bernard (Diane), and Tim (Sue) Kut.
Survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Leotta (Nee Holt) Kut; two children, Scott (Fridah) Kut, and Laura (Tom) Neuhardt; two grandsons, Zac and Thomas Neuhardt; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, 10:00am in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441. Interment will be held following service at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation at the funeral home on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 3:00pm until 7:00pm.
