Melvin (Mel) Losowski (63) of Bordentown, NJ, passed away at home on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Mel graduated Trenton High School and served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a dedicated employee at Clayton Block for over 40 years.

Predeceased by his parents Melvin and Carolyn Losowski (Longmuir), an aunt, June Baldwin (Longmuir) and her son Ronnie Baldwin. Mel is survived by his wife, Lori Canavera Losowski; sister, Rosemarie Downs and brother in law, Daniel; sister, Valerie Sweet and brother in law, Jim Sweet; and brother, Steven Losowski.. Mel was also the loving uncle of Morgan and Austin Downs, and Kayla and Eliza Sweet. He is also survived by several aunts, many cousins, and countless dear friends.

To know Mel, was to love Mel. He was incredibly kind, naturally funny, often silly, easy going, and just a lover of a good time. He was not rich with a big bank account, didn't have a fancy house or powerful job, but what he did have was a big heart and a willingness to share it. This richness of heart is what naturally drew people to him, just to be with him, over and over again. Mel also had an incredible memory. He was the family storyteller, recalling events from a very young age with uncanny detail.

Mel was always there to help his family and friends when in need. The legend of food shopping with his grandmother, mother and aunt at the same time will live on forever. He was the guy that cleaned cemetery graves and attended every funeral. Giving and helping were second nature. Mel loved his dogs as family, making time to walk them by the river as often as possible. He enjoyed traveling to tropical islands with his wife, ocean kayaking, scuba diving, bike riding, cooking fabulous meals, bird watching, going to concerts and jamming to all types of music especially reggae, rock, funk and blues. Never to be forgotten, Mel now will shine on as one of the brightest stars in the heavens and our hearts.

Cremation services will be private. Relatives and friends may pay respects on October 17 at 1:30 pm; then a memorial service and prayers will start at 2:30 pm at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home, 2946 South Broad St., Hamilton;

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mel's memory to an animal rescue of your choice.
