The Lord called Melvin Meyer (age 90) home on November 30, 2024. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He entered this world on May 1, 1934 in Frazee, MN son of Lawrence and Esther Meyer. He is survived by his loving wife Joanne 70 years of marriage; daughter Pamela Rinderknecht (Mike); son Mark Meyer (Donna); daughter Brenda Schuerman (Larry). He was proud of his 8 grandchildren and his 11 great grandchildren.
Mel was a Korean veteran and served in the Army from 1954 - 1956. He was a long standing member of Sgt. John Rice VFW in Blaine, MN.
Mel was a devoted Lutheran and enjoyed giving back to others through volunteering. Spending time with his family was his greatest joy, which included camping, hunting, family fun time and he took incredible pride and joy to maintain a beautiful yard.
When Mel retired from local truck driving he stayed busy working at the Menards security in the lumberyard.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Messiah Lutheran Church 2848 County Road H2, Moundsview, MN 55112. Visitation - 10am. Service - 11am. Luncheon to follow.
