Melvin is survived by his Children - Melvin (Libby) Schuerman, Jr., Hope Schuerman, Penny (Steve) Nienaber, Dawn Ellis, Mike Schuerman, Joy Schuerman, Step-Children - Tammy Boarders and Mike Boarders, Siblings - Shirley Engelbrecht, Lena Mae Schulte, Dorothy Schulte, Martin Schuerman, Rosiey Hayeslip, and Lonnie Schuerman, Grandchildren - Christopher Boman, Bradley Schuerman, Heather Kinder, Jessica Brawley, Matthew and Josh Schuerman, Terri Adams, Kindra Nichols, Tabitha and Kayla Schuerman, Lindsay and Tyler Nienaber, Dillen Sperry, Gabriella Enloe, Kameron Ellis, Hunter Parson, Kathy Green, Jesse and Jason Parson, 35 Great-Grandchildren, several Great-Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many many friends.
Melvin was preceded in death by his Wife - Martha Schuerman, Parents - Martin and Sarah Schuerman, Granddaughter - Ariccca Nicholle, and Step-Daughter - Annette Boarders.
Melvin enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting, spending time at the casino, and being surrounded by family. In earlier years, he proudly raced his #3 stock car at the St. Charles Speedway. He was also a dedicated member of Legion Post 226. Known for his resourcefulness, he appreciated the simple satisfaction of scrapping and recycling.
