It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Meredith Anne Knowles.
A beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She passed peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of June 5th, 2025. Born in the middle of the great New England Hurricane, on September 10th, 1938, in Boston, and primarily raised in Windsor, Maine, "Anne" devoted her life to raising and cultivating our family to rest on a strong foundation of love and enjoyed many close, loving friendships throughout her life. Meredith's memorial service will be held in September around her birthday so we may all have a chance to come together and celebrate her wonderful life.
She will be greatly missed and shall always remain in our loving hearts and collective memory as the strong, stubborn and homespun Maine farm girl that loved to cook, to read, to teach, to travel and the many other skills and hobbies she learned throughout her long lifetime.
Meredith is survived by her loving children: Allan Luigi Knowles of Andover, Meredith Anne and her husband Stephen Aalto of Weymouth, and Katharine and her husband Eli Levine of Andover. Grandchildren: Robert and Katherine, Greg and Jessica Denton, Allan and Erika, Michael, and Colin Knowles, Ben and Gabriel Levine. Great-grandchildren: James, Hailey, Charlie and Katelyn Denton and niece: Janet and her husband Jorge Cabrera and their children, Hannah, Isabella and Alessandro, of Bridgewater. The Guerriero Family of Holbrook, MA. As well as lifelong friends: Emily Brooks Eubanks of Wareham, MA. and George Geisser of Branson, MO.
Funeral Services were privately held. Arrangements were entrusted to the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home of Andover. For additional information, please visit, www.burkemagliozzi.com.

As Allan's significant other for the last 13 years, I had the privilege of a special friendship with his beloved mother Anne. Since my family lives out of state, Anne always offered an open door and place of comfort for me. We enjoyed many experiences together over the years from casual chats over tea at her apartment, attending political events and lectures in town to dining out at fine restaurants. She provided a place of refuge when I had to evacuate for the Andover gas explosions and made soup when I was sick. These are just a few examples of the beautiful heart of Anne. I will greatly miss her and always cherish the impact she made on my life.
