Merl Dean Eike

Merl Eike, 69 year old Fargo area resident died Friday, October 20, 2023. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 30, 2023 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Merl Dean Eike was born on June 5, 1954 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Wilbur Lee and Thelma Lorah (Jahay) Eike. Merl grew up on the family farm north of Fargo, Oklahoma. Merl attended Fargo schools and graduated from Fargo High School. He then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma. Merl then returned to Fargo and worked in the oilfield for a short time before going to work for Western State Hospital in Fort Supply until his retirement.
Merl had a love for agriculture and because of that he farmed and ranched his entire life. When he wasn't working on the farm, he could be found spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. He made many great memories with family and friends hunting and fishing.
Merl is survived by his wife, JoAnn Eike of the home; daughter, Carrie Ann Roberts; son, Jerod Ray Eike; grandchildren, Haylee Hutchens; Austin Waggoner; Mason Eike; brother, Dale Eike and wife Dawn; nephew, Reo Logan and wife Jenn; niece; Dr. Jo Eike; great-nephew, Nate; niece, Nicole Gathers and daughter Lily; nephew John Thomas Hughes; long-time friends Ray and Barbara ; Rex and Sally; other family and friends.
