Merle Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch Funeral Service - Greenville on Sep. 22, 2021.
Merle Glenn Davis went to be with his heavenly Father on September 20, 2021. He was born in Dallas, Texas to Raymond Davis and Hazel Daniels on December 21, 1936.
Merle was a loving husband, great father, and a good man. He liked camping, hunting, fishing, and his motorcycle. He nobly served his country in the US Air Force in 1954, and continued to serve in the reserves for some time after.
He proudly worked as a master plumber rising to General Superintendent for a mechanical contractor, and later retired from his second career as a building engineer at the U.S. Postal Service. Out of everything he accomplished he was most proud of having been married for 66 ½ years to the love of his life, Betty Sue.
Merle is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Davis and children Susan Marie Creighton, Steven Glenn Davis (Sheila), Sandra Lynn Luttrell (Mike), and Shannon Merle Davis (Michele). He is also survived by one brother, two sisters, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
Merle is preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 6-8:00 PM at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville, Texas. A graveside service will be held at Lynch Memorial Park on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 11:00 AM.
