Merle Waters Obituary
He was born October 20, 1951 in Quincy, Il. son of the late Lyndle Merle and Wilma White Waters.
Surviving are his children, Michele Hannant (Kurt) and Kevin Waters (Cynthia) all of Perry, Il.; grandchildren, Kendal Hannant (Ashley), Mercedes Hannant, Daisy Waters, and Ruby Waters; great-grandchild, Harley; siblings, Carol Bradshaw of Griggsville, Il. and Lynn Waters (Rosemary) of Perry, Il.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Jim Bradshaw.
Merle was a graduate of Perry High School and farmed in the late 1970's and early 1980's before becoming employed by the city of Griggsville for thirteen years. He was a member of the Griggsville United Methodist Church. Merle had a love for tractors and loved to read and draw.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday (August 6, 2025) at Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville, Il. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery in Perry, Il. Friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the chapel. The family suggests casual attire in honor of their father. Memorials may be made to Wilson Cemetery and sent to Airsman-Hires Chapel, Box 513, Pittsfield, Il. 62363. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
