Merrial Williams-Acker Obituary

Merrial "Mae" Lee Jackson Williams-Acker, daughter of the late Oscar P. Jackson, Sr. and Amy Jackson, was born on December 3, 1948, in New Orleans, LA. Merrial entered eternal rest at University Medical Center Hospital in New Orleans, LA on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the age of 75. Merrial leaves behind her loving husband, Hildred Acker; daughters: Deidre Howard (Vincent), Rachelle Thomas (John), and Anika Williams-Doucette, and son-in-law Troy Ricks (husband of the late Nanette Ricks). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Keyaira Tripps, Olayinka Keyshata Daniel (Saeed), Vinisa Howard, Vonya Howard, John Thomas Jr., and Gabrielle Doucette, great-grandson Saeed Daniel, along with bonus granddaughter Toya Ricks and great-granddaughter Charlie Williamson. She was a member of the Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church led by the late Rev. Leroy Crinel and later grew in faith at Greater St. Stephens Full Gospel Baptist Church, led by Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr., as well as Divine Providence Full Gospel Baptist Church under the direction of Bishop Tommie L. Triplett, Sr. Mae rejoined Greater Antioch, serving under her nephew, William Paul Jackson, Sr. She was also an extra mile member at Corinthians Missionary Baptist Church #2 led by Pastor Nigel C. Thompson, Sr. and Dr. Sam J. Johnson, Pastor Emeritus. She grew up in the 12th ward of New Orleans, LA. Mae dedicated over 30 years of employment to Tulane University Bookstore. After Hurricane Katrina, Mae worked at Oglethorpe University Bookstore in Atlanta, Georgia and retired in 2009. After retiring, Mae found joy in working with Byron's and Don Harden's Catering Event Services and Allied Security Service for Carnival Cruise Lines. Relatives, friends, City of New Orleans Police Department Office of Homeland Security, Department of Veteran Affairs office of patient centered care and Cultural Transformation, Advanced nursing training. Holmes healthcare LLC., University of Lafayette, are all invited to attend the Memorial Service at Greater Antioch M. B. C., 2126 Simon Bolivar Ave., New Orleans, LA 70113 on Friday, October 4, 2024, for 6:00 p.m. Her Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, for 9:30 a.m. at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church No. II, 2601 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70113. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Pastor William P. Jackson, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. i remember Ms. Acker, she was a patient where i worked, i also worked with her daughter Nannette at Kindred hospital. Praying for the family, GOD is able to see you through i pray for his love grace and mercy upon the family.

To Uncle Hilfred and Family Earth has no Sorry Heaven can not Heal. She´s Absent from the Body but Present with Lord . Memories are for ever hold on to Memorable Moments they last a last Lifetime.
