Merrie Dawn "Dawn" Johnson

Merrie "Dawn" Johnson, born December 6, 1954 in Sterling, Colorado, peacefully passed away on March 29, 2025, at the age of 70. Dawn attended Akron High School and graduated in 1972. She was a resident of Fort Collins, Colorado, where she lived life to it's fullest, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and resilience.
Dawn's life was a testament to the power of love and determination. On September 21, 1973, she married the love of her life, Timothy Johnson, and together they recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary, a milestone that speaks volumes of their enduring commitment and partnership. Dawn was a devoted wife, a proud mother, and an adoring Mimi. Her proudest moments were those spent with her grandchildren, each bringing her joy and fulfillment.
Known for her unwavering honesty, Dawn never hesitated to speak her mind, especially during the playful banter of her children. Her strong will and determination were defining traits that saw her through life's many challenges, including her victorious battle against cancer.
Dawn enjoyed Sunday crosswords and challenging puzzles. You would find her birdwatching while tending to her garden, or curled up on the couch watching the Hallmark Channel and Food Network.
Dawn is lovingly remembered by her husband, Timothy, daughter, Katherine, and son, Christopher. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Andrew, Kailey, Jayden, Casen, Addyson, Austen, Jamesen, and Elena. She is also survived by her mother Joyce Miller, sisters Teresa, Shannon, and Erin; and brothers Rick and Mike.
Dawn is preceded in death by her son Matthew, father Clive Miller, grandparents Elmer and Bernice Doane, and brothers Pat and Rusty.
To honor Dawn's life, a funeral service will be held on Saturday April 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, located at 301 E. Stuart Street, Fort Collins, CO 80525. A private internment will be held for the family.
