Mervin Devers

Mervin G. Devers age 85, of Cumberland, OH passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 at his residence. He was born October 22, 1939 in Salineville, OH a son of the late Raymond "Bill" and Beatrice Starkey Devers.
He retired from UPS in Boardman, OH in parcel delivery in 1994 then moved South to build his dream log home. Mervin could fix anything. He loved tinkering in his workshop, hunting, and riding his red 4-wheeler around the neighborhood. Mervin never met a stranger and was a frequent visitor at Patty's Place for lunch.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Devers; son Douglas Devers; siblings Rolland Devers, Erma Miller, Martha Luna, and Kenneth Devers; mother-in-law Doris Yerian.
Those left to cherish his memory, are his wife Donna D. Yerian Devers whom he married July 10, 1993; two daughters Amy (Dave) Miller and Judy (Dave) Greier all of Salem, OH; son-in-law Jeffrey McGuire of Salem, OH; 6 grandchildren Nick, Ryan, Jesse, Jordan, Kayleigh, and Nathaniel; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings Virginia McFarland of New Philadelphia, OH, Florence Devers of Alliance, OH, Darrell Devers of South Carolina, and Elizabeth Phillips of Alliance, OH; father-in-law Dale Yerian of Cumberland, OH. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, April 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation Monday, April 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Greg Thacker officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiramsburg Cemetery in Hiramsburg, OH.
