Mervyn J. Harris

Mervyn Joseph Harris, 91 of Lady Lake Florida passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025 with his wife of 71 years by his side. Mervyn was born on January 22, 1934 in Lacy, Washington. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Army where he served as a Chief Procurement Officer for 30 years while ultimately achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Following his retirement with the U.S. Army, Mervyn then served as a Procurement Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

After retiring with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Mervyn and Patricia moved to the Villages in Florida where they lived for 30 years. During this retirement, Mervyn was involved in several organizations including; Masonic Lodge (Leesburg Past Master), Lake County Shrine Club (Past President), Florida Association of High Twelve Clubs (Past International, State and Village President) and the Wolcott Foundation (Trustee).

Mervyn is survived by his wife, Patricia Mae (Robbins) Harris and children; Jerry Harris (wife

Sandy), Sherri Wallis (husband Bruce), Kerri Broome (husband Ken), Steven Harris (wife Sondra)

along with 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Roberts of Ocala Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, 606 SW 2nd Avenue, Ocala, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to his service, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, at a later date.
