Obituary of Michael Addison
Michael Hueston Addison, 78, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023. Born in Lancaster, SC on March 8, 1945, he was the son of the late Edgar Hueston and Jean Mobley Addison.
Mike is survived by his wife, Barbara Hyatt Addison; daughters, Dana (Alston) Thompson and Kim (Jeff) Stilwell; grandson, Chris Thompson and granddaughter Sara Beth Stilwell. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Denise Addison and a brother, Reggie Addison. Mike was also preceded in death by Emmit, his beloved terrier and companion of 12 years.
Mike enjoyed many different sports and spent over 30 years as a softball umpire. He was also a published author. He was a man of great faith and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Mike was greatly loved by his family. Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we find joy in knowing that he is with his Heavenly Father.
The family will greet friends at a visitation on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Woodridge Funeral Home, beginning at 2 o'clock until 4 o'clock. Inurnment will be at a later date.
The family would like to express its appreciation to Heart of Hospice for the loving care Mike received during the last two weeks of his life. A special thanks goes to his nurse Chris Nettles and his aide, Christine Lopez, who cared for Mike and the family with such compassion and concern.
