Michael S. Akelian, 83

Lynn - Michael S. Akelian, a lifelong Lynn resident, passed away peacefully Tuesday August 30th, 2022, at the age of 83, surrounded by loved ones. Michael was a devoted husband to Constance (Cassola) Akelian, with whom we celebrate their 54 years of marriage this past Wednesday, August 31st.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Manoog and Jouhar (Tashjian) Akelian. Michael was a graduate of Lynn English High School, and went on to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology. During this time, Michael enlisted in the National Guard where he later received an honorable discharge.

He spent most of his career working for Tasco Construction where he was like a father figure to owner's Gary and Jerry Tashjian. All the while, Michael became co-owner of Essex Motors on the Lynnway throughout the late 1970s and 80s.

Mike was extremely well rounded with a wide range of interests and hobbies. He enjoyed camping, the Patriots, NASCAR, and snowmobiling. He was passionate about anything with an engine. Mike and Connie spent many winters in Florida, and summers at Old Orchard Beach with family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two of his sons; Michael and Peter Akelian, a grandson Mike Akelian, his former daughter-in-law Melissa Wong, her two daughters Kassandra and Gabby, his other two sons; Mike and Joe Morrill, and their families, the Cassola family (his in-laws â€" who were like his own brothers and sisters), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Service Information: Family and friends are respectively invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, September 9th 2022, from 9:30AM â€" 1:30PM at the Solimine Funeral Home (426 Broadway, Lynn MA).
