Michael Andersen Obituary

West Concord - Michael N. Andersen, age 81, of West Concord died Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.

Mike was born December 19, 1943, in West Concord to Norman and Hazel (Sivert) Andersen. He was a graduate of West Concord High School. Mike earned a bachelor's degree from Mankato State University and his master's degree from the University of Minnesota. Following his schooling, he served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1970.

Mike was a life-long farmer and also taught English at Faribault High School. He enjoyed traveling all over the world, especially Las Vegas and to his second home in Alaska. Mike also enjoyed fishing and was an avid wing shooter and big game hunter.

Mike is survived by nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Schaefer.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Michaelson Funeral Home in West Concord. A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Light of Hope Cancer Foundation (www.lightofhopemn.org). Please visit www.michaelsonfuneral.com to leave a condolence for Mike's family.
