Dear Michael, Just sitting around and thinking about you and Lou in heaven and the following dawned on me. You have always been the leader of the family. It is only appropriate that you should have a title. So the best I can come up with is "GODFATHER". I have also decided that you and mom should also be in charge of all the Aschieris, Gallos, Rileys, and all the Stiglmeiers. Speak with God about them and keep them all in line. And by the way " GOOD LUCK MIKEY !!!!! "

Dear Son,
Soon it will be your Birthday and yes, we still celebrate it. We remember and discuss all your past birthdays and all the fun we had. All the happy, happy years we spent together. I raised two great sons. I have always been so very proud of you both. You would be amazed at your brother because( believe it or not ) he has become a clean and neat freak. I swear to it. Hi Mike,
Well it is five days before Easter. I am going to Vegas with Tina, Madelyn Grace, Uncle Johnny and Aunt Susan. Paul is having a hard time with his legs and he finds it very hard to walk. I feel so bad about leaving him alone, especially on Easter Sunday. We are having Easter dinner at Vince and Aprils new home. It will be so good to see your brother, along with Vince, Johnny , Caroline, April and all the great grandchildren. I have not seen the kids in over a year.
We so wish you were here. I think about and pray for you all the time. We had a lot of great times together but not nearly enough of them. Paul and I sit some nights and just laugh at some of the many things you did and said. You were a great son, father and brother.
Hey Mike, in June the Big Timers Club will be one hundred years old and they are having a big party. I have my spies and will let you know if it is as great as they say it will be.
I wish to say to you that you are so loved and so missed. HAPPY EASTER MY DARLING SON !

Our Dearest Michael,
Today is Thanksgiving. Another holiday when you will be sorely missed. Vince is a grandfather again. A little girl weighing nine pounds. ( WOW ) Johnny and Carolina named her Lucille after me. How great an honor is that ? So John & Carolina have two girls now. Tina & Chuck have two girls and a boy and Vince junior & April have two boys and a girl. Hi Mike,
Today is your birthday and you would be sixty-one so Happy Birthday.I still find it hard to believe that you are no longer with us. Not a day goes by when I do not think of you. Everyone tells us it gets easier as time goes by but they are all wrong. Your brother is a grandfather again as Vince and April just had a baby girl and named her Emily and she was ten pounds, six ounces ( WOW )! Johnny' wife Carolina is due in November and they are also having a girl. So Vince will have five grand kids, two boys and three girls. You have five also,three boys and two girls. They are all beautiful angels and all loved so very,very much. You would have had so much fun with all of them as you always had so much love to give. Nine years have passed and we miss you more each year at our Easter Table. You have four grandchildren now and Vince has three and one on the way. Hi MIKE,
It is eight years today that you went to God. We are all surprised that He was able to get along without you for so long.You are missed so much. The family never gets together when you are not discussed. Your brother is coming to Buffalo and we are having a mass for you and your Dad. Vince said some of his and your friends are coming to the mass. A day never goes by that Paul and I do not think and talk about you. We laugh a lot about some of the crazy things that you and your brother did. What love we all have for family.Vince can hardly wait to see your grandchildren. Knowing Vince he will probably cry.Madelyn Grace was told she had to clean her room before Uncle Vince comes. Madelyn says she knows Uncle Vince is a " clean freak " and that she is a hoarder. It is Christmas time and as for the last seven years while you have not been here physically to celebrate with us you are always here in memories and in our hearts. Vince Jr., April, Michael and Joey were here with us and they were so looking forward to snow but we have not had any yet. Do you believe that? They had a great time with Madelyn, Juliana & Nicholas. Hi Mike, Happy Thanksgiving.We never think of you as being gone as you live on in the hearts and minds of all those who love you and all those whom your life has touched. Hi Mike,
Merry Christmas ! We are having Christmas dinner at Chuck and Tina's home. In two more weeks they will have their baby boy. Two girls and a boy. Wow, what a great family. I know you watch out over all the grandkids, nieces and nephews. I also know that you pray to God for all those you love and who love you.
Vince is teaching Michael to speak Italian. He sent us an anniversary card written in Italian. What a trip he is. He is so happy with his boys, his grandsons and granddaughter. We are as proud of him as we know you are.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !
We just got back from Vegas where we got to see our two new Grandkids, Selena and Joseph. They are both so happy and sweet. It was Michaels third birthday already. He is such a polite, good and happy boy. We had such a wonderful time with the kids and Vince, April, Johnny and Carolina. Being with your brother was also great. He has lost so much weight. He looks fantastic and is so happy. His life centers around his boys, their wives and his grandchildren.
Tonight we are going to see Madelyn, Juliana, Chuck and Tina, We have not seen them in three weeks. Boy do we miss them.
You would be so happy to be here with all these kids, they are wonderful. You could really be " Don Michael ".

It has been six years ! My heart is full of memories. With pride I speak your name though life goes on without you. But it will never be the same.

Madelyn was in a dance recital recently and she looked so beautiful. She did a great job and she gets so excited. She is now getting ready to go back to school. Madelyn was on stage during the recital singing and what a little ham she is. We love going to all her stuff and Julianna sits there and claps. They are both so beautiful and friendly . I am sure you are so proud of them.
They play so good together and soon there will be three of them. Chuck and Tina are having another baby ! Now how great is that ? John and Carolina had a baby girl. Hi Mike,
Soon It will be Easter and I miss you so much. I miss your laughter, your smiles and always your hugs. Thank God for your grand kids. When I see them I feel so good and I see you in them. You have missed out on so much but then so have they. While I pine for you I know God took you for a special reason.
I still remember all the happy Easters we spent together. You , your brother and all your kids at our home for the Easter egg hunts. Those were great days. The kids are all grown know and have or soon will have kids of their own.
Young Vince turned 29 this year , is married and has two boys, Michael & Joseph.

Hi Mike,
Merry Christmas ! It is snowing today and we are going to have a white Christmas. More grandchildren are on the way. Vince and April are having another boy. Johnny and Carolina are also having a baby but it to early to tell gender. You better watch over and protect them all. I cannot believe I will be a Great Grandmother for the fifth time. WOW ! How lucky is that.Chuck and Tina are having us over for dinner on Christmas. They have started their own Christmas tradition.
Madelyn and Juliana are growing so fast and they are so smart. You would love talking to Madelyn. She says words that you cannot begin to imagine where she gets them from. Madelyn takes dancing lessons and she loves them.
Your brother loves being a grandfather more and more each day. Michael makes him so very happy. He just loves babysitting. You would be so proud of him. I love you and miss you so very, very much. It has been five years since you went to God.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves memories no one can steal.
You are with us everyday. We know you are watching over Tina and Chuck and helping your two beautiful grand kids, Madelyn and Juliana.
The two girls are gorgeous. I know that you are watching over Little Michael also.I feel so sad that you are missing out on all the fun and enjoyment that you would have had with them. Paul and I have three beautiful Great Grand kids.
We do not get to be with Michael as much as we would like but April and Vince send us a lot of pictures and videos. He is so cute! He helps his Grandpa wash clothes, it is so funny.

Easter is just around the corner and we still have snow. Our temps are in the thirties, it is so cold !! I am remembering when all the grandkids would come here for their Easter Egg Hunt. What fun we had. Madelyn is growing so fast and boy can she talk. She is such a doll. When we see her she tells us right away that " I am having a baby sister in June ". Hi Mike,
Christmas is here again. I can remember many years that my happiest Christmas memories were created by you and Vince. I can remember, now with happiness, when you and Vince were ten and eight years old and you saying to Vince " PJ,s again, SURPRISE ". We did not have much money but we always had a lot of love for each other and for family. We had so much fun, so money and toys are not all that is needed for a lovng family at Christmas.
You boys were my whole life. No matter our situation I was a very happy mother with my two great sons.
We are having Christmas dinner at Chuck and Tinas home with Madelyn and Chucks family. I know you would have loved Chucks family because family means everything to them as it does for us.

Thanksgiving is here again. So much love, so many memories, so many reasons to miss you. Always on my mind, forever in our hearts.
I would love to have our family together. We had some really great holidays dinners. What a time we would have with Big Vince, Vince , April, Michael, Johnny, You,Tina,Chuck and Madelyn.You and your brother could brag about your grandchildren.
Next year, in June, you will be a Grandfather again. I thank God I get to see Madelyn often and feel so sad I do not get to see Mikey as often as I would like.
Madelyn is a little talking machine and is so beautiful and Mikey is a speed demon. He moves so fast and is so handsome.
I am so happy with the two greatgrand children and anxiously look forward to the third.

Paul and I just returned from Vegas. We went for Michaels 1st. birthday. What a doll he is. Your brother is in seventh heaven so proud of his grandson.
Vince and April had his party in a beautiful park and they really did it up right. We had such a wonderful time. Let me tell you Mike your namesake has a mind of his own. He never walks, he runs ! Hi Mike,
It is four years today that you left and went with God. I cried when you left and I am still crying.
I may not see you but I feel you and know you are around.
A parent should not have to bury a child.
You taught people a lot about how important family and respect for same is.
Believe me we are trying to keep your love of family going and I am sure that you are be proud of us.
To bad there are no phones in heaven as we would be really busy talking all the time. There is so much I would have said to you but I was not given the time and we lived so far apart. I remember and cherish our phone conversations so very much.
Vince is following right in your footsteps in relation to family and you should be so proud of him! His boys and grandson are everything to him. Family is all he thinks about. He always says that Tina took right after you and that talking to her reminds him so much of you and the love you two shared.

I have just finished reading some of the letters you wrote to me and while they are somewhat sad they are a joy to me just knowing that you wrote them. I have some great news. Chuck and Tina have bought a beautiful brick home in Lancaster. It has a big yard for Madelyn to run and play in. They did it all by themselves. I am so very, very happy for the three of them.Madelyn is the most beautiful and smart little girl. We have so much fun with her. Your brother is sounding so very happy with his " little Michael ".I can just picture you and Vince playing with your grandchildren. We skype on the computer and I get to see Michael and Madelyn at the same time. Hi Mike,
Today is my birthday. Seventy-five years old. But there will be no birthday call from you.Vince sent me a card with the picture of a black man on the front. Inside he wrote " I remember the black statue we had that you named Mary Illuzi. Why you named it that we never knew as she was not black. I also remember you waking Mike and I out of a sound sleep to go with you, Uncle Johnny and Aunt Sue to drive cars to Rochester to make extra cash for the three of us. In todays world that would be child abuse. " Boy, we really did have fun with all the crazy things the three of us did. Thats what " Family " is all about ! I am so thankful that Paul taped Tinas birthday parties as we can now watch you and listen to your voice. While it is nice I would much rather have you here. We think and talk of you always and a day does not go by that you are not in our prayers.
