Michael Austin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by New Horizon Funeral Chapel and Cremation on Feb. 20, 2023.
Michael Lee Austin (39) of Orlando, Florida left the world in peace in the early morning of January 29, 2023. He was born on April 24, 1983 in Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his parents Ewell and Bridget Carter (Orlando, Florida), his beautiful daughter Miranda Laney Austin "Toot" (Mother Melinda Holsman "Mindy"; St. Cloud, Florida), his brother Justen Carter (Fiancée Kimberly Maccio; Orlando, Florida), Barbara "Barbie" Reyes (husband Timothy Reyes; Orlando, Florida), and his sister Nicole Carter (Orlando, Florida). He is survived by several nieces and nephews: Alyssa Carter, William Carter-Reyes, Leah Avila, Miguel Avila Jr., Noah Avila, Brody Michael Smith (Godson), Westen Smith, and Adalynn Carter. He is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins including James and Chris Austin (Tampa, Florida), Debbie and Gary Harry (Dallas Texas), and Gary and Cathy Spurlock (Dallas, Texas). He is predeceased by his grandparents Bill and Barbara Ridgell, his aunt Barbara Ridgell, and his uncle Rex Austin.
In Michael's early years in Texas, he played football for many years. He was also known as a little bit of a trouble maker in his school year ages. He loved traveling back to Texas from time-to-time visiting family. He loved spending time with his grandparents and loved them dearly. As Michael got older, he moved to Florida and began working for I.A.T.S.E. #835. Where he worked for many years and met friends that turned into family.
If you really knew Michael, you would know that he enjoyed fishing, video games, coloring, listening to music, animals (SueSue and Rayne), bonfires, boating, and food (enchiladas, baked ziti, and anything sweet). Michael was known by many nicknames: Bubba, Bub, Austin, and Big Change. He loved his siblings very much as they loved him the same. The bond between each sibling was unique and wonderful.
He was also known as Dada by his daughter Miranda (Toot), which we believe was his favorite name of them all. Sadly, Michael only had a few years to spend with his daughter, but he made sure she giggled and smiled all the time. Miranda loved going fishing with her dada and giving him butterfly kisses. Michael and Miranda are spitting images of each other. Everyone called them "TWINS".
While Michael left us far too soon, he will be missed by his daughter, family, and friends; he is finally at peace. Michael was loved beyond words can express. He will be watching over his daughter and his family. Michael left this world too soon, but he left us with a beautiful blessing, his daughter Miranda Laney Austin, who we will keep Michael's memories alive for.
