Michael Kent Bachesta, 71, of O'Fallon, IL, born on April 18, 1954, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home.

On top of loving his family, Michael was also a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed watching them play either on TV or in person. Michael also followed the Apollo program, had an interest in astronomy, and liked building model rockets.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Michael and Mary Kathryn Bachesta (nee Aldrich); and one brother, Scott Phillip Bachesta.

Left to cherish Michael's memory are his son, Kevin (Jessica) Bachesta; brother, Raymond (Kathy) Henderson; sister, Tina "Dale" (Rob) Wolf; two grandchildren, Corbin (Mary-Kate) Willis, Dylan Willis; close friends, Debbie & Ed Knox, and Sandy Schempp; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Michael's honor may be made to the O'Fallon Fire Department Association; 1215 Taylor Rd., O'Fallon, IL 62269. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., at Schildknecht Funeral Home; 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O'Fallon, IL 62269.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at Schildknecht Funeral Home; 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O'Fallon, IL 62269, with Chaplain Scott Adkins officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schildknecht Funeral Home.
