Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - St. PetersMichael Barnes, born on June 9, 1943, peacefully departed this life on November 29, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.
Michael was a dedicated family man, surviving by his beloved wife, Beth Barnes, and their two sons, Jon (Jessica) Barnes and Ryan Barnes. His pride and joy extended to his three grandchildren, Kelsie (Sam) Standiford, Kylie (Alex) Heitergd, and Chloe Barnes, along with his two great-grandchildren, Miles Standiford and Hayden Heitgerd; and his sister, Jeanette (Jerry) Feldhaus; He is also remembered fondly by a host of other family members and friends who were fortunate to know him.
Throughout his life, Michael cultivated a variety of interests. He enjoyed watching baseball, relishing the thrill of the game, and spent countless hours reading, finding joy in a wide array of literature. Sundays were often dedicated to visiting the Wentzville flea market, where he savored browsing through unique items and spending quality time with his family. Michael loved to go bumming and out to lunch with his wife and Bettye. The simple pleasures of life were valuable to him, and he took great delight in the moments shared with his loved ones.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Hayden Barnes; mother, Ruby Barnes; his son, Kevin Barnes, his brother, Pat Barnes; and his sister, Priscilla Massaro. Their memories will remain an integral part of his enduring spirit, as he touched the lives of so many.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, 1:00 pm at Suwallers Bar, 2101 N Warson Rd, St. Louis, MO 63114; on the corner of Warson and Lackland.
As we remember Michael, let us honor his dedication to family, his passions for life, and his unwavering love for those around him. He will be profoundly missed but will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
