Looking back years later, I can still see Dr. Barrett’s caring smile whenever I think of him. As a patient who has seen dozens of doctors for more than 60 years, Dr. Barnett was unequivocally one of the finest, most compassionate understanding individuals in his profession. Always moving to see patients all times of the day or night. I still miss chatting with him about the Red Sox, golf and life’s surprises. He deserved a long enjoyable healthy retirement. God had other plans. He wanted him home with Him to rest. Now he can.

Doctor Barnett was one of the kindest caring person you could ever meet. Not only was he a great doctor, but he was caring and a compassionate person as well. Something you don't see often. He will always be remembered, and missed. I know he's where he belongs with the angels, because he was one here on earth. Heartbreaking!

Dr. Barnett...a warm, caring, kind compassionate and tireless man. I am very grateful for his tender care towards both of my parents for over 20 years.
I was beyond moved when he came to my mothers bedside as she was going to heaven that day. He came to see her with his compassion and had a tear in his eye . I will always remember that moment and him. The world cannot afford to lose people such as this.
You have your paradise. Rest in glorious peace.
My deepest sympathy to the family.
Sincerely,
Anne McGowan Turner

Michael was an amazing man and doctor. He has been my doctor for over 42 years. He was dedicated to his family and patients. He will be missed. We are so very sorry for your loss.

I was deeply saddened, on a visit to Cape Cod in August, 2019, to learn of the serious illness, of my former colleague, Dr. Michael R. Barnett.
I was his partner in medical practice for more than a decade. I had tremendous respect for Mike. I thought he was a brilliant physician. Because he was younger than I, because he always seemed to have one more idea about how to rescue his own patients when they got a bad prognosis, I am shocked that he has died, himself, at such a relatively young age.
My condolence to Melissa and Kathryn and Connie.
