Michael Lee Barthauer, 73, of DeGraff, passed away at 9:13 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born in Piqua, Ohio on March 11,1951, a son of the late Bob Lee Barthauer and Ruby Frances (Ceylor) Barthauer.
On July 10, 1971, Mike married Joyce (Jenkins) Barthauer in Bellefontaine, Ohio and she survives, along with their two children, Jennie (Bart) Rogers, and Jeremy (Lynda) Barthauer; five grandchildren; Zach (Amanda) Rogers, Levi Barthauer, Justin Barthauer, Greyson Barthauer, and Aubree Barthauer; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Karen (Gary) Meyers, Rita (Steve) Strayer, and Missy (Robb) Cummins; a brother, Kevin (Deb) Barthauer; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a grandson, Seth Rogers.
Mike had worked as an auctioneer with Barthauer Auction Service and was a retired associate with KTH Industries. A past volunteer firefighter for Quincy Miami Township Fire Department, Mike enjoyed woodworking, boating, fishing, watching the Cincinnati Reds with his family, and his grandkids taking him for rides on the golf cart.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff, where Pastor Bill Halter will officiate a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. The family requests that guests in attendance wear blue jeans or casual attire. Burial will follow in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Mike’s memory, to Morgan's Place Cemetery, 1254 State Route 589, Sidney, Ohio 45365.
