Michael Courtot Baughan

Michael Courtot Baughan sadly passed from this life on Tuesday May 4, 2022, from a neurological injury and subsequent medical complications. He joins his Mother and Father, Rita and Earl Baughan in heaven - along with his middle brother, Mark Baughan (who tragically died suddenly earlier this year). Michael will be dearly missed by his surviving brother, Matthew, sisters-in-laws Laura Baughan and Belinda Baughan, his nieces Rita Baughan and Hillary Cooper (John), and his nephews Justin (Erin), Joshua (Jennifer), and Aaron (Sarah) Baughan, his 12 great-nieces and nephews - and his beloved 4-legged best friend, Chief.
Michael's life was nothing short of incredible, accomplished, and, adventurous. He had a long, highly successful career as a gifted industrial designer, following receiving his degree in that field from the Cleveland Institute of Art. Later, he would start his own thriving company. He engineered his life to include travel, outdoors, and adventure. The list of his hobbies and passions is long, but includes: rock-climbing, white water rafting, ocean kayaking, skydiving, scuba diving, primitive camping, fishing, and epic cross-country road trips across the country on his giant BMW motorcycle. Michael so loved to read, and amassed a huge library of books, that he has willed to the Mt. Healthy branch public library near his home. A three-time cancer survivor, and a US Army veteran. An classic gun and knife collector, and a crafty pool shark. A devout Browns fan. A friend to so many, far and wide.
Regarding arrangements, there will be a private gathering of immediate family within a few weeks. Followed by an open-house/celebration-of-life later this spring or summer, to which all extended family, friends, neighbors will be invited (details to be posted on social media).
