Michael Beard Obituary

Published by Macy Allnutt Funeral Service-Eaton Chapel on Jun. 11, 2011.
Michael Dean Beard was born in Denver, CO on May 9, 1971 on Mother's day to Terry and Rhonda Beard. Michael moved with his parents to Champion, NE, in 1974, where he grew up in the country. He was baptized in the First United Methodist Church in Imperial, NE. He attended Champion Grade School and graduated from Chase County High School in Imperial, NE in 1989. He attended Chadron State College in Chadron, NE for three years, majoring in wildlife science. In Chadron, he worked as a State Park Attendant and a plumber. He moved his family to Loveland, CO in 1998 where he became a licensed master plumber in the state of Colorado until the present time. He had just started his own business, Bighorn Plumbing and Heating, named after his bighorn sheep, and the background on his business card was a picture of a bighorn sheep he had taken in the mountains. Mike's passion was hunting and fishing in the mountains, and he was very proud of his large elk and bighorn sheep. Mike wrote a story about that hunt and his hunting partner, his dad, which was published in the Spring 2007 Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society newsletter. He camped, hiked, and hunted and always did things the right way, wanting to pass that knowledge on to his sons. He always said he felt peace and close to God when he was on the mountaintop. He loved the mountains and walked the ridges over Cameron Pass and the Never Summer Mountains scouting with his dad or brother every opportunity he had, depending on the hunting license they drew. Mike liked to smoke meat and fish, and he loved to grill. He also liked woodworking and could fix anything, whether it be vehicles, plumbing, heating, dry walling, etc. He loved country music songs and always had music playing. He had his favorites he would sing with his daughter, Kylie. He was a friend to many, with a positive and happy-go-lucky personality. He was always there to help his family, and he wanted to help anyone he could. However, most of all, he loved and adored his three children, Austin, Ben, and Kylie Beard. He passed away at his home in Loveland on June 11, 2011 and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his three children, Austin age 15, Benjamin age 11, and Kylie age 9; a brother, James, of Loveland; his parents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many, many friends. Mike's favorite quote was "GREAT THINGS are done when men and mountains meet" – by William Blake. His spirit will forever be in those mountains over Cameron Pass. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at Allnutt Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15 at Allnutt Funeral Service with a reception to follow in Allnutt's Reception Center.
