Michael J. Bettens

Michael J. Bettens of Hopatcong NJ has passed away on August 26, 2021 after a short illness. He was 53 years old.
Michael was born and raised in Wharton NJ, he lived through out Morris county all of his life.
Michael was a graduate of Morris Hills Highschool, where in his senior year he was a champion wrestler. He has a passion for all sports. As a kid he played baseball, football, and wrestled. His all time favorite team was the Oakland Raiders.
Anyone who knew Mike knew his love for fishing, especially deep sea fishing. That was a passion learned from his father Ron.
Another passion of Mike's was his absolute love for the Grateful Dead, whom he use to follow all over the United States. When Jerry Garcia passed you would of swore Mike lost his own brother that's how much he loved them.
Predeceased by his father Ronald Bettens in 1996 and his mother Barbara Bettens in 2016.
Michael was survived by his daughter Mackenzi (23) of Belvedere, his brother Ronald, his wife Rose & their son Nick of Stanhope. His sister Doreen Bettens, her son Joseph Depp, her daughter Nicole Depp of Rockaway, her daughter Danielle Depp of Lake Hiawatha, and her son Lawrence Depp Jr. and his wife Shannon of New York. As well his great niece Liliana Depp of Rockaway.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held at the American Legion Post #344, Rockaway, NJ 07866. On Saturday, September 11th from 2-6pm. Please join us to celebrate his life. Internment will be held private for immediate family.
