Michael "Mickey" Bochicchio, age 77, born on April 25, 1947 in Reims, France, passed away peacefully while holding his daughter's hand on February 15, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of memories filled with love, adventure, and resilience. He was the beloved son of Anthony and Paulette (Cole) Bochicchio and the cherished brother of Philippe.
Michael experienced a childhood unlike most, growing up an Army Brat, traveling and living throughout Europe, shaping his deep appreciation for culture, language, and exploration. Some of his fondest memories were of his time at Orléans American High School and his close group of friends who he was still in touch with as of his passing. He was fluent in three languages and conversant in a fourth thanks to his unique upbringing. In 1975, he embarked on a new chapter and moved to the United States where he worked for Polaroid while raising his family. In the late 90's he returned to Europe where he worked as a chef for the Department of Defense at an AFRC resort in Garmisch, Germany. Always seeking adventure, he also spent a summer working for Princess Cruise Lines in Alaska, embracing the beauty of the wild frontier and adding yet another chapter to his remarkable journey.
Michael found immense joy in cooking, traveling, and watching movies. His passion for music-especially The Beatles and The Rolling Stones-was a constant in his life.
Michael was the definition of resilience. He overcame numerous health battles, including his stroke and the aphasia that resulted. Despite these challenges, he remained strong-willed and determined.
Michael's humor, intelligence, and larger-than-life personality touched people everywhere he went. He leaves behind not only his family but also many dear friends in all corners of the world, a testament to the lasting connections he made throughout his journey.
Michael's legacy lives on in the memories he created, the stories he shared, and the love he gave so freely. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Andréa, her husband, Bill, and his treasured grandson, Nicolas. He was predeceased by his dear son, Andrew. He will be deeply missed. It brings comfort to know that as he arrived at the gates of heaven, Nicky, his cherished Yorkie that passed in 2014, was surely there, wagging his tail and welcoming him home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you take a moment to enjoy good food, great music, and the company of those you love-just as Michael would have wanted.
Be safe, Daddy, Je ne t'oublierai jamais.

My name is Gary Harvey and I was a class mate at Orleans American High School, Class of 1967. I remember Michael and also Bruce who added a message. I lost touch with all my class mates but I do remember Michael and the fond memories of a simpler life we had in high school. Michael will be missed and I a sure his family will treasure the memories.
