Michael Bosley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home - Storm Lake on Dec. 16, 2025.
Michael Charles Bosley, age 71 of Aurelia, IA passed away December 15, 2025, at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial services will take place Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the family for a memorial bench to be placed at the Lake Creek Golf Course that Mike loved. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Born to Ernie and Helen Bosley on March 29, 1954 in Storm Lake, IA, Mike grew up with a strong love for the outdoors and sports. He was quick on his feet which suited him well as a gifted pitcher in baseball and a skilled basketball player on the court. Growing up with a large family helped nurture his competitive spirit. He graduated from Storm Lake St. Mary's in 1972 and went on to work at Hygrade, IBP, and Tyson.

In later life, Mike found contentment in the simple pleasures he loved most-days spent hunting and fishing, working the land, attending gun shows, golfing, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and tending the greens at Lake Creek Country Club. He enjoyed keeping in touch with friends, especially over conversations about sports and the outdoors. The camaraderie of gun shows brought him joy, and he took great pride in his firearms collection and vehicles. Above all, he treasured his visits to Chicago to spend time with Chad, Melissa, and Abigail.

Mike was the proud father of Chad, grandfather to Abigail, and father-in-law to Melissa Bosley, all of Elmhurst, IL. Also left to cherish memories of him include his siblings Ken (Johanna) Bosley of Abita Springs, LA, Mary Larsen (Ed) of Storm Lake, IA, Tom (Jodi) Bosley of Sioux City, IA, and Teresa (Rick) Siewert of Perryton, TX; uncle Dan Connell of Storm Lake, aunt Dorothy Hammer of Cheshire, CT; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Clarence and Mary Connell, Claude and Opal Bosley, his sister Kathy Mummert, and niece, Heidi Mummert.
