Melancon Levingston Funeral Home - Port NechesBlake Bourque, a cherished member of the Nederland community, passed away on February 3, 2026, at his residence in Port Arthur, Texas. Born on August 4, 1954, Blake lived a full life surrounded by family, friends, and coworkers whom he all loved dearly.
Known to customers as "The Whistler", Blake served as a Manager at Market Basket, where the joy he had in his work was evident by his continuous whistling throughout the day. Hiring on in October of 1971 Blake was an ever present pillar of the store for the next 49 years. His hard work, dedication, and willingness to always help was greatly appreciated by customers and colleagues alike.
Away from work Blake enjoyed many pastimes which included watching NASCAR and the Astros, boiling the best crawfish, grilling, and mowing his lawn, though his greatest passion was always fishing. For 35 yrs Blake spent countless hours at Lake Sam Rayburn with the love of his life and the best fishing partner one could ask for. Blake and Terry's bond was forged on the water with fond memories of great catches, tornadoes, and the occasional backlash.
Blake was a beloved member of A Church of Jesus in Port Neches for many years. He was known for his quiet demeanor and loving smile. He especially enjoyed his time at the table with his close friends and weekly lunch meetings with his fellow retired "buds".
Blake is survived by his beloved daughters, Teah Doyle and her husband, Ryan of Schoolcraft, Michigan, Tara James and her husband, Chad of Hoover, Alabama and son, Eric Seigrist and his wife, Sarah of Nederland. He was a proud grandfather to Gregory and Izabella Doyle, Grace and Hayden Seigrist, and Hallie and Emmi James and great-grandfather to Taelynn and Everleigh Komon.
He leaves behind siblings who will forever cherish his memory: a brother, Terry Bourque and his wife, Cindy of Lumberton; and sisters, Brenda Howard of Port Arthur, Kathy Alexander of Bridge City, and Kim Lopez and her husband, Jim of Orange.
In his passing, Blake joins his late wife of 35 years, Terry Bourque, who was his steadfast partner in life, as well as his parents, Harris Bourque, Sr. and Eve Bourque. He is also reunited with his brothers, Harris Bourque, Jr. and Tony Bourque, who preceded him in death.
Blake Bourque will be remembered for his love of family, his generous spirit, and his enduring legacy within the community. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Following the service, the family would like to invite you to join in friendship, memories, and fellowship with a meal at A Church of Jesus, 601 Victor Drive, Port Neches, Texas.
