Michael Box Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 30, 2026.
Michael Todd Box was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on December 19, 1964, and passed away in The Woodlands, Texas on January 28, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Judith Marie Mouton, and his step-father, Walter James Mouton.

Todd is survived by his fiancé, Ann Tyler; his children, Brandi Williams, Britanie Box, Hannah Hall, and Hayden Box; his bonus children, Alex and Elizabeth Tyler; grandchildren Nolan Kelemen, Ryan Kelemen, Brooklyn Box, Hunter Valle; brothers, Troy Box and wife Tina, Brad Mouton and wife Julie, and Buck Mouton; nieces and nephews, Kylee Mouton, Amanda Box, Jacob Box, Paige Box, Ashton Mouton, Chase Gragert, Kylee Mouton, Sarah Mouton, Taylor Mouton, Dallas Mouton, Dakota Mouton; great niece Preslie Mouton-Weeks. Two wonderful neighbors, Taylor and Victoria, that he often referred to as his other children too.

After high school, Todd joined the Navy. Here he later became a Corpsman and completed Field Medical Services School. In 1990, he was sent to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Storm. Upon his return he began training and serving as an Auxiliary Deputy. Desiring to become a SEAL; Todd went to San Diego and entered into the BUDS program. Upon discharge from the Naval Service; Todd sought out a position with the Texas Department of Public Safety, continuing his desire to provide for the safety and welfare of his fellow Texans.

While some of his military buddies may call him "Mike" or "Doc" most of us know him as "Todd", or even "Tater Todd". But we all agree that he was a truly remarkable man. His big personality, heart of gold, and we all never knew what would come out of his mouth. Todd has always been unapologetically himself, fun, outgoing, not flashy. Todd's Love Language is Acts of Service and he loved helping people, cooking for family and friends.

"Some people come into our lives and quickly go; some stay for a while and move our souls to dance. They leave footprints on our hearts and we are never, ever the same" (Flavia Weedn). Todd will forever leave footprints in our hearts and never be forgotten.
