Michael Brooks Evans

Michael Brooks Evans, Sr., of Temple Hills, Maryland, passed away October 24, 2021, at his home. Born May 30, 1981, in Silver Spring, Maryland, Michael attended French immersion classes at Shadyside Elementary School and continued through 13 years of French, graduating from DeMatha High School in 2000. He was an avid soccer and baseball player in his youth and developed an interest in swimming, from his first high school job, at age 14, where he started as a lifeguard and progressed to regional manager. Later, Mike worked as a security guard while obtaining his AA degree at Prince Georges Community College, and then earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, in criminology, from the University of Maryland University College. Following graduation, he worked as a contractor for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Headquarters, then as a federal employee for TSA. Most recently he had returned to DHS HQ as a personnel security specialist.
Mike was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan, he enjoyed travel, and most of all, Mike loved spending time with his children doing new and different things. His favorite peaceful place was his family cabin in West Virginia, where he enjoyed fishing on the Cacapon River.
Mike is survived by his wife Marlé; four children, Nina, age 13, Kennedy, age 12, Michael Jr., age 10, and Madison, age 5; parents, David Evans, Sr., and Helen Brooks Randolph; his brother David Evans, Jr.; and a host of family and friends.
