Michael Albert Brooks

Michael Albert Brooks (a.k.a., Mike or #1), the first of 15 children born to the late Albert Samuel and Estella Betty (Nokes) Brooks, was born on Monday, November 2, 1948, in Washington, D.C.
After a peaceful evening at home surrounded by his wife, son, daughter, grandson, and daughter-in-law-and after listening to some of his favorite songs-Mike gently transitioned to eternal rest early Thursday morning, November 20, 2025, with his daughter's hand resting over his heart.
Mike joins his grandson Ikaika in heaven and his legacy continues to live through his wife of 55 years, Ella, son, Michael Jr., daughter, Candice, daughter-in-law, Adrianna, grandson, Michael III; brothers, Kenneth, Larry, Jerry, Tyronne, Ronald, Mark, Terry, Bryant, and Tracy; sisters Paulette Curry, Diane Ellis, Cindi Griffin, Sonia Hammond, and Tammy Westbrook; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends. He was predeceased by one brother, Gregory (Greg).
Mike attended Oak Grove Elementary and Loudoun County High School. For 30 years, he proudly owned and operated M & M Maintenance LLC, a building and residential services company, retiring in 2021. His commitment to service extended to First Baptist Church in Manassas, Virginia, where he was an active member and held roles as Trustee, Men's Choir member, and President of the Men's Ministry. You could always find Mike cleaning something, fixing something, or tending to the yard-always working with care and pride.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycling, watching old black and white movies (Gun Smoke, Clint Eastwood, Rifleman, King Kong, horror films), camping, watching football and women's basketball, dessert–especially carrot cake and butter pecan ice cream, and spending quality time with his family and granddoggies.
