Michael Dale Bryant age 61 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee.
He was born on November 6, 1963 in Oneida, Tennessee to the late Roy Bryant and Flonnie (Sellers) Bryant. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a step-daughter, April Slavey; a brother, Gary Bryant; and sister, Mary Ellen Bryant Owens.
Surviving family include his wife, Rita Fay (Foster) Bryant; a step-son, Shane Slavey (and Kendra) of Stearns; brothers, Charles Bryant of Pine Knot, Claude Bryant (and Ruby) of Whitley City, and Jeff Bryant of Pine Knot; and sisters, Lena Phillips of Gainsboro, Tennessee, Linda Bryant of Pine Knot, Joan Anderson (and Jerry) of Parkers Lake, and Kay Tibbs (and Chuck) of Shreve, Ohio.
Also surviving are Mike's grandchildren, Dustin Shrock (and Brianna) whom he raised as his own son, Jon Calvin Smith (and Dawanna), Ruger Slavey, and Kimber Grace Slavey; 7 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Dennis Privett; and a special cousin, Carolyn Watters, whom the family sends a thank you to.
Michael was a member of the Hill Top Missionary Baptist Church where he enjoyed attending services. He also liked being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. Mike will be missed deeply.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Hill Top Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Tapley and Bro. Shane Slavey officiating. Burial to follow in the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday after 11:00 am until service time at the church.
Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
