Michael Keith Budnick, age 61 of Canton, Michigan died from (post surgical) cardiac arrest on October 13, 2025.
Michael was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on May 13, 1964 to Michael Patrick Budnick and Joyce (nee Wall) Budnick.
Michael is survived by his dear mother, Joyce Budnick, his younger brother, Randy Budnick and his beloved children Brandon, Kevin and Marissa (nee Budnick) Lukatsch as well as his former spouse and good friend Amanda.
Mike had a hilarious, wry sense of humor. He never missed an opportunity to share something he found funny, always trying to share a big laugh with you. He worked hard and played harder. He loved Detroit sports, especially the Lions, Tigers and Red Wings. He had a love of music, Sammy Hagar, Ted Nugent, and Queen were among his favorite artists. He truly celebrated nature and the outdoors through which he believed in a sustainable circle of life. He lived it through his respectful fishing and hunting ethics, always giving prayer and thanks for the life of the animal and never harvested just for sport. Thus venison was a family staple. Through hunting and fishing he made lifelong friends with Jim Adams, Randy Greenwood and Jim Zelenski, whom we recognize as family.
Mike had a way of making everyone feel like family, his unique sense of grace made him a friend to all. As a father he never let his children go unsupported, as a son he was there for his mother in all things. Above all, his children were the focus and treasure of his life.
A private Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
