Michael A. "Coach" Calamari was 67 years old when he passed away Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023. Born in Teaneck, Michael was a resident of New Milford before settling in Dumont 42 years ago. He proudly served in the United States Army for over 24 years, 6 of the years spent on active duty and before an additional 18 years as a reservist. He was actively employed as the Assistant Superintendent of the Borough of New Milford's Department of Public Works where he has been employed for 38 years. A huge sports fan, Michael loved his San Francisco Giants, Green Bay Packers and New Jersey Devils.
Michael was the son of the late Francis and Hannelore Calamari. He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret (nee Maddolin) Calamari, his loving children Matthew and Melissa Calamari, his cherished siblings Gary Calamari and his wife Susan, Peter Calamari, and Karen Kelly and her husband Joe as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1511 River Road, New Milford. The following morning, Monday, a prayer service will be offered in the funeral home at 10 am. Burial will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
